Welcome to the Department of Human Resources West Virginia State University (WVSU) is a historically black college/ university which has evolved into a fully-accessible, racially diverse and multi-generational masters degree granting institution. In addition to graduate offerings, more than 15 baccalaureate degree programs are available at WVSU. Associate and technical offerings are specifically part of the administratively-linked Kanawha Valley Community & Technical College (KVCTC) mission. Together, WVSU and the administratively-linked KVCTC serve over 5000 students. Consistent with its tradition, West Virginia State enrolls a wide range of students and assists them in achieving their academic, civic, and career potentials through quality academic programs in an environment nationally recognized as a "living laboratory of human relations." West Virginia State is the largest institution of higher education in the Charleston metropolitan area and WVSU and KVCTC offer a wide range of academic opportunities for students.
